My Story
The Beginning of EZ Driving School
EZ Driving School’s story is deeply personal and is fueled by the life-changing experience of Christina. In 1989, Christina was involved in a tragic car accident on her wedding day. At the time, seatbelt laws were not in effect in California, and Christina, not wearing her seatbelt, was thrown through the windshield when the car struck a boulder on the freeway. Despite the vehicle traveling at the posted speed limit of 55 mph, the driver failed to adjust to the conditions of the road, resulting in a deadly crash.
The driver did not scan ahead for obstacles or adjust to the sharp curve in the road, a mistake that cost him his life. Christina spent her wedding night in the hospital, suffering from severe injuries, including over 400 stitches on her face, a dislocated eye, a skull fracture, glass embedded in her chest, and muscle and tendon damage to her left leg. Despite the severity of her injuries, Christina defied the odds—her doctors considered it a miracle that she regained mobility in her face and avoided permanent blindness.
The scars, however, remain—a constant reminder of the devastating consequences of poor decisions made while driving. Christina’s experience shapes her teaching philosophy today, as she is deeply passionate about educating teens on the importance of driving safely and responsibly. Her goal is to ensure that every student she teaches understands the life-altering consequences that can occur from a single bad decision.
Christina’s commitment to driving education stems from her own personal experience, knowing that wearing a seatbelt can make the difference between life and death. Christina's life was forever changed by that fateful decision to remove her seatbelt just moments before the crash, and she now dedicates herself to ensuring no teen makes the same mistake.
